Do you want Zac Efron as Light? Do you want Samuel L Jackson as L? There are persistent rumors flying around that these two actors will play the roles of the aforementioned anime characters. I can see Zac Efron as Light though I think the latter should be taller. I think the guy that will play L should be in his twenties except of course if Hollywood wants to revise the story altogether. This is the second time Zac Efron's name has been linked to a live-action anime remake - the first one is in Full Metal Panic although he denied he was ever offered the role.
