Donaire vs Concepcion Result

Donaire vs Concepcion Result. In summary, Nonito Donaire gave a boxing clinic to Rafael Concepcion, but it wasn't evident as the Panamanian's occasional connections rocked the Filipino. Though clearly, Donaire was too skilled for the Central American.

At four pounds overweight, Rafael Concepcion was able to survive Donaire. The Flash said in an interview if Concepcion was fighting at 115, he would have knocked the Panamanian out. Nonito Donaire's jabs was giving Concepcion problems. His counterattacking and defense resembled that of Mayweather, but when opportunity came Donaire's left was unleashed. Donaire was content boxing and keeping out of trouble as the overweight opponent does have power. The Filipino's pinpoint jabs would routinely open the cut his opponent sustained in the early rounds. Donaire has his moments to put away Concepcion, but it wasn't meant to be, though it was a great show of his skills. Nonito Donaire is now the World Boxing Association Interim Super flyweight champion. He said in the TV interview he looks forward to fighting, Morel and Arce. Those fights will be exciting indeed!

Scores:
De Luca 117 - 111
Roth 116 - 112
Ford 115 - 113

Donaire vs Concepcion Notes:
  1. As most fans noted Donaire should strengthen his defense. His hands were too low for most of the fight!
  2. Donaire should also improve his technique as he lost his balance every time he unleashes a huge right.
  3. Remember fight fans Donaire fought an overweight opponent.
  4. Donaire impressed me again. He is such a complete fighter - a lesser one would fold against Concepcion.

Donaire vs Concepcion: Filipino Power Update / Analysis / Prediction / Live Streaming

Donaire vs Concepcion Update / Analysis / Prediction - Okay let us focus our attention on another important thing the upcoming Donaire vs Concepcion match on August 15, 2009 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It's going to be a great fight esp. for Nonito Donaire fans.

No disrespect to Rafael Concepcion (13 - 3 - 1 8 KOs) but Nonito Donaire ( 21 - 1 - 0 14 KOs) is the overwhelming favorite in the fight. Why? The Filipino Flash is undefeated since 2001 and won last his last five fights via KO OVER top opposition such as Vic Darchinyan and highly regarded Raul Martinez. His achievements earned him a spot in Ring Magazine's Pound for Pound list thereby affirming his status as one of the world's best boxers. Donaire has power and is a technically sound boxer - he knows when to wait and when to unleash. The Filipino Flash's training with the Penalosa brothers further honed his skills --- making him more deadly. He is truly a complete fighter. This will be the first match for Donaire in the 115 lb category - hopefully his power remains intact in his new weight class.

So what about Rafael Concepcion? Is he a sacrificial lamb so to speak? That's what people thought of him when he faced young prospect AJ Banal in Cebu, Philippines back in July last year. Concepcion is a durable boxer - he survived AJ's onslaught in the earlier rounds . He hang on, boxed, used his veteran smarts until the tenth round when he disposed of the young boxer. Concepcion won a World title as a result but then lost it to Arce months later. The Panamanian is now on a two-match winning streak and seeks to continue it with Donaire. Unlike AJ though, Donaire is prepared for any tricks Rafael Concepcion will display come fight night.

Donaire vs Concepcion Prediction: Donaire via KO (boxing experts' assessment)

Donaire vs Concepcion is a mismatch to some people but its not Donaire's fault. The Filipino flash was paired with Carita Lopez months back but the Puerto Rican seems to be avoiding the former like a plague. Then, Hugo Cazares name came out however the match up also fizzled out. Donaire was even lucky to get this fight as boxers in his old and new weight class are obviously avoiding him (Ask the Japanese flyweights. Not even a challenge could convince them to FIGHT him.)

If he wins, Nonito Donaire says will move up in weight again (118lb) and challenge Jorge Arce next.

Donaire vs Martinez Result / Donaire Too Powerful For Martinez

Donaire vs Martinez Result? Donaire overwhelms Martinez. With that performance I don't blame Darchinyan for avoiding him. Nonito Donaire was impressive. He floored Raul Martinez twice in the first round but the Mexican survived. In the 2:42 of the fourth round, another Donaire shot felled Martinez - the referee quickly stopped the boxing match. Donaire was too powerful for Martinez.

Nonito Donaire is unbelievable. He basically toyed with Martinez and I'm not exaggerating.

In the interview, Nonito said he is looking to move up the weight class and fight Montiel - another spectacular match hopefully held in the US.

Quinito Henson

Joaquin "Quinito" Henson is not just an expert in boxing matters but an expert in human relations. His great ability to wade through precarious waters during the last Manny Pacquiao-JMM fight earned him my respect again. Instead of putting Pacquiao down and praising the enemy, Quinito asked for prayers to help strengthen Manny in that one dangerous round in which our fighter was caught with a punch. He knows how to adjust himself with his audience. He still calls things frankly of course but with more tact and class obviously absent from his co-commentators (Donaire sarcastically said" Incredible! Incredible! Incredible!" after Pacman's victory was announced earning the ire of the entire Pacland. When his fight in Dubai was cancelled some Paclander said "Karma!" Chino Trinidad tends to get awed by Mexican boxers whether justified or not and focuses on them too much.) Mr. Henson doesn't resort to name-calling and sweeping generalizations like that P---- F---. Instead, Quinito always gives detailed explanations to prove or disprove his point like his column "Why Castigate Manny?" In short, this guy knows what he is, where he stands, and who his audience is. Mr. Henson is a world-class writer.

Nonito Donaire

Pacland fans are up in arms against Nonito Donaire whose comments came across to them as arrogant in Pacquiao-Marquez II fight several days ago. I agree Nonito sounded like a know-it-all prick and worse he insisted Pacquiao lost. He may sound like a jerk but I'll still support him not only because he is a Filipino but he is a talented boxer. Besides I really like to see him beat the **** out of that Hussein. I REALLY ENJOY SEEING FILIPINO BOXERS WIN PERIOD. I don't want to relive the emotions I felt seeing Pacquiao lose to Morales in their first fight March, 2005. I don't want to see a Filipino boxer lose. I had to emotionally detach myself in the recent Boxing World Cup so I won't get hurt too much seeing Boom Boom Bautista fall like a deck of cards. I will support Filipino boxers prick or not!
