Is Manny Pacquiao Overrated?

Manny Pacquiao is Overrated. So says some blogger. Are you even a boxing fan? Don't discount a person's ability because you hate them or hate their race. Nah...Need I explain? If you are a boxing fan, there's no need. Just as there are superstar boxers and bums, there are boxing experts and EGGPERTS. The term Overrated is easily dished out by people convinced of their expertise nowadays. Nah...Maybe it's a desperate attempt to smack some hits.

Future Hall of Famers Manny Pacquiao Defeated:

Marco Antonio Barrera - TKO, UD the only TKO defeat in his historic career

Erik Morales - Loss, KO, KO same as the above (only KO loss in his career)

Juan Manuel Marquez- D, SD went down four times against Pacquiao

Oscar De La Hoya - TKO never been pummeled for eight straight rounds - not by Hopkins nor Mayweather - jumped up two weight divisions and shocked 99% of boxing know-it-alls and experts
in the process.

I mean if you think otherwise, you don't know boxing. Man, there are so many wannabe experts out there. I'm just a fan but the facts above speak volumes to what the man has achieved - facts is superior to some guy's opinion. Facts present the truth and not some interpretation skewed by bias. Some boxing "experts" remind of lawyers - if given the chance they will twist the facts.

The only thing OVERRATED here is the UK PPV sales.

Update:
Manny Pacquiao is now a six-weight division world champion and four-time lineal world champion. The facts don't lie when his newest victim was a guy previous unbeaten in his division. Manny went to that division and inflicted that guy's first loss - in humiliating fashion. Manny Pacquiao is overrated...dream on. It is safe to say that on the internet where one's real identity could be hidden. Say that in public and you will sound like an ------.

Hate him or Love Him you still Remember the Name

I wonder if some of them made the same mistake in picking Pavlik over Hopkins a month ago. A boxer builds credibility by defying the odds... thank God Manny did it. Pacquiao proved these people wrong... lol. It turns out some so-called experts' guess were as good as ours! Experts...phooey! They only analyzed the obvious. Some of them were being prick about it and THAT DISGUSTED ME enough to bring this issue up.

Some of them don't have a clue on what they are talking about their only advantage they have a website.

So boxing experts, how does it feel getting embarrassed by Manny? LOL

These wannabees will still spew out nonsense in the future but we know better now don't we? Being a boxing expert is a comfortable job since a wrong prediction won't cost them anything. Great job.

The EXPERTS who got it right:

Nick Cafardo, Boston Globe -- Pacquiao by TKO 8
Bill Dwyre, Los Angeles Times -- Pacquiao by decision
Ed Graney, Las Vegas Review-Journal -- Pacquiao by decision
Dave Cokin, ESPNRadio1100 -- Pacquiao by decision
William Trillo -- Pound4Pound.com

Edwin Valero
Roberto Duran
Busta Rhymes
Rashad Holloway
Dennis Guillermo --- 8countnews.com
Joaquin Henson --Philippine Star

Mayweather Sr. said Oscar will rearrange Manny's face he should have seen what Manny did to Oscar. One thing about the Mayweathers, they really hate Manny - a combination of jealousy and racism on their part maybe...since they never really acknowledged him. Manny never said anything bad about Floyd Mayweather. The problem with the Mayweathers is they talk too much but can't back it up. I remember Margarito challenging Mayweather IN HIS FACE yet nothing the guy smiled sheepishly. Floyd won't even fight Cotto or Margarito. Human nature has it that you will take advantage if you think you are better that your opponent. Mayweather has said he is better than those two boxers but never challenged them. I thought you are better than them. Sheesh.

On my part, I was against the Fight but I supported Manny win or lose. You may check the earlier posts and my readers will testify in my behalf.

Here were the Headlines then courtesy of Philboxing.com

I still agree that this was a mismatch but I'm glad Manny is just super boxer. I'm happy too that Oscar took the "LOW ROAD" and got punished for it. He thought Manny is easy picking and was rightfully pummeled by the Filipino.

Update:
Manny will take a rest. He will fight again in June either with Hatton or Mayweather. Right now, he will take a long deserved vacation. It's not like he takes his time reading his critics. Even God has critics.

Mayweather is excited to come back in the ring. To fight Margarito? Of course NOT!!! Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao of course he he he. This is according to a report from Mlive.com.

THE LEGENDARY BOXING WRITER POST-FIGHT ASSESSMENT

Bert Sugar is the the boxing writer and historian. He is the best in his profession and here is his post-fight analysis of Diaz-Pacquiao match days ago.

Fighting for the first time at the lightweight level, Pacquiao not only carried his weight well, but also his punch North as well. Almost from the git-go he began dissembling Diaz into small and tidier places as he threw non-stop punches from every angle known to boxingkind, much like a contortionist finally coming into his own, thwacking Diaz almost everywhere but on the soles of his shoes with lead lefts, double and triple right-hand hooks and rapid-fire combos. By the end of the second round his non-stop punching had opened a cut on the bridge of Diaz's nose and left Diaz looking as if he were interested only in catching the first train going south, his bull-like rushes as effective as a fig leaf at a nudist convention.

Later, like red wine blushing at the certification of purity on its label, Pacquiao modestly said, "I feel much, much stronger and more powerful at 135-pounds." Indeed he was, having ventured Columbus-like into the 135-pound class to put on a performance worthy of a Sugar Ray Leonard--or even a Sugar Ray Robinson. And in the process proving himself again "The Mexicutioner," having added another Mexican fighters pelt to his belt, and proving himself to be boxing's "Best Pound-for-Pound Fighter"--as well as proving Aesop's hare-brained moral was all wrong: "slow and steady" never beats speed and strength. This time the tortoise wasn't there at the finish. For Full Story

Coming from Bert - a legendary sports writer - that says a lot about Manny's ring competence. By the way, Sugar Ray Robinson is the universally recognized best pound for pound boxer of all time.

IN DEFENSE

Manny Pacquiao has been under attack from several pseudo-boxing writers recently and even I got sick of it. However, Nick Alejo of Philboxing.com threw a counterpunch that sure got the attention of those hacks. He exposed their true intentions and their actions in one of the best anti-Pachater article.

Pacman ranks #4 in my P4P list...
Pacquiao only fought over the hill mexican legends...
Pacquiao never fought an A-level black boxer... ledwaba is not a black boxer...
I believe Guzman will beat Manny Pacquiao...
Pacquiao is avoiding Guzman...
Pacman will escape to 140 to fight Hatton to avoid Guzman...

Did I get your attention Paclanders?

Sometimes it's annoying, but oftentimes it's funny reading these kind of articles. Lately, these type of write-ups are springing like poisonous mushrooms on the WWW. Either these writers are real Pac-hater, pacfan-hater or just plain flat envious of Pacquiao's on and even off-ring accomplishments, but honestly, i'm more inclined to believe that these self-proclaimed boxing experts are just intentionally writing negative articles about Pacquiao in order to get more hits on their websites/blogs. They are playing with the thousands of passionate and emotional pacfans, and I'd say they are succeeding. (mistakes are from source)

It is also entertaining and at the same time amusing how Pacfans oftentimes fell victim to these absurd articles. A writer would invent... err... write a negative article about Manny and all the Pacnuts/Pacmaniacs (as these writers refer to us), would leave comments at the bottom of the article.

Just to remind you guys, the more hit a website generates, the better for them. When I say hit, I'm referring to the unique IP that is registered once you enter a website. In layman's term, it means when you click their website link, you give them that precious hit they've been drooling for. So the more you reply to their non-sense articles, the more you visit their blogsite, the more hits they get. The more hits they get the better for their site ranking. So, instead of reacting violently and posting your sentiments on their blogsite, why not try to refrain from clicking their website link. Avoid browsing their website like you avoid your officemate who brushes his teeth 2x a week. This way you save yourself from possible hypertension and heart attack, while at the same time depriving them of your precious hit.

Going back to some of their absurd articles, how can a person say Ledwaba is not black because he didn't fought like Ali or Sugar Ray Leonard? Last time I check, black is under the category of color not style. They can always make a case that it was only a figure of speech but as far as I'm concerned it will always look like they're looking for ways to discredit Manny's accomplishments.
SOURCE

By the way to say Ledwaba is not black is to say Michael Jordan is white. I know who wrote these anti-Manny stuff but I won't say it or he'll become more popular. This is not the first time this Pachater dished out diatribes against the Filipino boxing icon. I stopped reading write ups from this nitwit a long time ago and hopefully other people would do so too in order to teach this guy a lesson. He is not going to make money at my expense!

Quinito Henson

Joaquin "Quinito" Henson is not just an expert in boxing matters but an expert in human relations. His great ability to wade through precarious waters during the last Manny Pacquiao-JMM fight earned him my respect again. Instead of putting Pacquiao down and praising the enemy, Quinito asked for prayers to help strengthen Manny in that one dangerous round in which our fighter was caught with a punch. He knows how to adjust himself with his audience. He still calls things frankly of course but with more tact and class obviously absent from his co-commentators (Donaire sarcastically said" Incredible! Incredible! Incredible!" after Pacman's victory was announced earning the ire of the entire Pacland. When his fight in Dubai was cancelled some Paclander said "Karma!" Chino Trinidad tends to get awed by Mexican boxers whether justified or not and focuses on them too much.) Mr. Henson doesn't resort to name-calling and sweeping generalizations like that P---- F---. Instead, Quinito always gives detailed explanations to prove or disprove his point like his column "Why Castigate Manny?" In short, this guy knows what he is, where he stands, and who his audience is. Mr. Henson is a world-class writer.

Has Manny Met His Match?

By implication and by suggestion, this seems to be the talk of the town. I disagree with the assessment. In reality, it was Pacquiao who stood firm and he never left the ground (unlike Superman Marquez). Pacquiao fought Marquez toe-to-toe and unafraid like the legendary Filipino warriors of ancient times. In fact, the Pacman decked Marquez in the third round the Mexican was lucky to survive. I see no one who could match Pacquiao at the moment.

The judges were correct. Pacquiao did win – no one could change what happened.

Respect the decision, please. I'm disappointed by some sports columnists insisting Pacman won because of beyond the ring considerations. Absurd. I bet they couldn't even back up their claims.

Respect the decision! I thought they are old enough to understand that. Obviously, for some advancing in age doesn't equate to advanced wisdom.
